Born in 1956 in Bermuda, Ms. Spurling was educated at St George’s Prep School, The Bermuda High School, and Malvern Girls College in England. She received a B.A. in English from The College of William and Mary in the U.S.A.. She then attended The Doscher School of Photography for a year long course in professional photography.
Upon returning to Bermuda Ms. Spurling worked for Mark Emmerson, a professional photographer, for one year before starting out on her own in 1980.
Ann’s specialty is interior photography but executive, studio and editorial photography are also a strong part of her core business. She runs her own studio in Hamilton at #10 Princess Street.
She has published one book Bermuda Nine Parishes in 2003 with over 600 photos of Bermuda and a rich narrative to embellish (as if it is needed) a naturally incredible island homeland. She has participated in many photography exhibitions particularly with the Bermuda Professional Photographers Association in Bermuda.
